Founded in 1702, the University of Wrocław is famous for both its “Mathematical Tower”, which was formerly the Astronomical Observatory, and its incredible Baroque Halls. The Museum of the University of Wrocław was established in 1992 and is devoted to the rich and dynamic history of the University, one of the most important scientific institutions in Poland.
The design and functionality of Unique Interactive’s solutions for the Museum were created to reflect the architectural importance and the character of the University’s complex and exceptional heritage.
When creating the interactive installations, user-friendly terminals and multimedia galleries for the exhibition entitled “Science and Teaching at the University of Wrocław 1702 – 2012”, our goal was to enrich the exhibition experience and provide easy access to the diverse collections of the Museum.
Featuring the historical scientific instruments, used by students of physics, astronomy and chemistry, our multimedia applications enable visitors to witness the scientific experiments performed in the mathematical workshops of a bygone era.
The Museum of the University of Wrocław includes a fascinating collection of astronomical tools, including an astrolabe from the 14th century, a sky globe from 1699, an equatorial sundial from the 18th century, and Galileo’s sector from 1665.
